October 1st, 2000
OM 1 - Lyon 1
At the 6th minute, N'Gotty kicks a long ball forward from midfield, in the general direction of Pouget. The ball actually falls down on Bréchet, 20m away from his goal, but the Lyon defender loses the ball to Belmadi. Djamel kicks it directly between two defenders and founds himself alone in the box facing Coupet. 9m away from the goal, slightly on the right side, he kicks the ball with his right shin and it goes past Coupet near the right post.
53rd minute: aerial box in the Marseille box N'Gotty and Anderson fight for. Bruno pushes Sonny away while heading the ball to Trévisan, and Mr Kalt calls a penalty kick. Sonny kicks it on the right, on the wrong side of Trévis'.

Player of the game: Belmadi was great, but he was really the only one to do well in this game. He did score, but he also gave some very good passes (should have been assists...), and fought all game long. While Pouget did get a penalty kick called on him (which Marcelinho shot on the left post) and the team consequently was on a "power play" for 60 minutes, OM did not impose any kind of rythm. Actually we didn't have all that many occasions to score, except for those great plays by Djamel.
Not all that great: First, Marcelinho. He lost all kind of confidence after missing the penalty kick and Braga just had to get him out of the game. Edmilson had his number all game long, as we should have expected, and he didn't even give a good pass on a 3 on 1 that should have been a score. He did not make any difference, unfortunately. It's also, and even more, Pouget's case. He missed so many great occasions, the only thing we can put to his credit is to have obtained the penalty kick. That wasn't enough, unfortunately.
We missed him : Without Jéjé Leroy, it's just not the same team, we've seen it in this game. We gotta be looking forward to #13's return, and it'll be in Paris!
